Moderate/strong easterly winds at dawn, swinging to north-easterlies late afternoon; relatively heavy rain at either end of the day, with a dryer interlude between. Seawatch highlights included 64 Red-throated Divers flying south, a Sooty Shearwater north, four Pomarine Skuas (three north, one south), 17 Bonxie south, five Long-tailed Skuas south (three adults, an immature, one juvenile), one Mediterranean Gull feeding offshore and a Swift flying north.
Fifteen Golden Plovers flew south over the headland, where passerine interest included: 31 Redwing, eight Song Thrush, 14 Goldcrests, a Yellow-browed Warbler at Old Fall, seven Willow Warblers, 29 Chiffchaffs, five Blackcap, two Lesser Whitethroats, six Spotted Flycatchers, a Wheatear, two Yellow Wagtails and two Brambling.
RSPB Bempton Cliffs attracted nine Redwing, a Ring Ouzel, 15 Goldcrests, ten Chiffchaffs, a Yellow-browed Warbler, three Spotted Flycatchers, a Pied Flycatcher, one Stonechat and a Whinchat.
