A sunny day, with a light south-west wind backing south-east during the afternoon; temperatures reached 15 degrees C. One Brent Goose, five Gadwall, a Tufted Duck, eight Manx Shearwaters and 11 Sandwich Terns flew south during the morning seawatch, with 15 Canada Geese, four Eider, a Red-throated Diver and a Bonxie moving north.

Fourteen Barnacle Geese flew south over the sea past RSPB Bempton Cliffs. Thornwick Pools hosted a Dunlin and two Tufted Ducks; with another Tufted Duck flying south over the headland. The day’s highlight related to the mid-afternoon discovery of a female Red-backed Shrike near Thornwick Bay.
