The weather consisted of light south-east winds, sunny intervals and temperatures reaching 25 degrees C. Seawatching highlights included 12 Tufted Ducks, 29 Oystercatchers, 16 Whimbrel, 125 Knot, 26 Sanderling, 70 Dunlin, 24 Redshank, eight Little Gulls and two Little Terns flying south; 122 Sandwich Terns flew north. Thornwick Pools attracted two Ringed Plovers, 37 Dunlin, five Greenshank and a Green Sandpiper. Sightings from RSPB Bempton Cliffs included 22 Whimbrel, 26 Redshank and 73 Swallows flying south(-east), with a Banded Demoiselle heading north out to sea.
