Overnight thunderstorms cleared by 8 a.m. giving way to an oppressively warm, humid day with variable cloud cover. The temperature reached 29°C by late afternoon with a light easterly backing to westerly later in the day.  Morning seawatching highlights comprised 4 Manx Shearwaters (3N, 1S), 10 Teal, 2 Whimbrel and an adult Little Gull all S and 428 Sandwich Terns flying N. Further passage over the sea was noted during the evening with 57 Common Scoter, 2 Whimbrel, 12 Dunlin, an Arctic Skua and a Great Skua all going south while 21 Sandwich Terns and 14 Manx Shearwaters moved north (also 6 south).

The overnight rain slightly raised levels on Thornwick Pools which attracted 2 Greenshanks, 5 Green Sandpipers and a single Teal.  A Short-eared Owl was over the Lighthouse Grassland again and 2 Yellow Wagtails added some passerine interest.
