Light/moderate south-westerly winds reduced in strength during a largely sunny day. During the seawatch, two Shoveler, 183 Common Scoters, three Whimbrel, 35 Sandwich Terns and four Common Terns flew north, whilst 11 Oystercatchers, two Whimbrel, 19 Redshank, two Sanderling and 41 Dunlin flew south. However, the highlight was a Minke Whale that fully breached to the north-east of the Fog Station; quite possibly the same animal was later seen off Bempton Cliffs RSPB. Thornwick Pools attracted 36 Dunlin, two Ringed Plovers, a Greenshank and a Short-eared Owl.
The latter location went one better when an Alpine Swift was discovered mid-morning; it showed well from the cliff top vantage points until late morning when it drifted off north-west.
