The prevailing wind again had a westerly component, although was north of west late morning; after a sunny day, heavy showers passed through the area in the evening. Seawatching highlights included 36 Manx Shearwaters, a Balearic Shearwater and a Great Crested Grebe flying north, 58 Oystercatchers and a Greenshank heading south, two Bonxies north, a sub-adult Pomarine Skua and five Arctic Skuas flying south, with a juvenile Yellow-legged Gull, three Arctic Terns and 382 Puffins flying north.
Thornwick Pools attracted 11 Dunlin, two Redshank, a Green Sandpiper and a Greenshank. Five Willow Warblers were also in the Thornwick area, together with two Spotted Flycatchers.
A Minke Whale was seen off Bempton Cliffs RSPB, where a Cuckoo was also recorded. Nearby Buckton hosted single Willow Tit and Redstart.
