The weather consisted of blustery south-westerly winds and heavy showers, the latter especially prevalent during the afternoon. Seawatch highlights included 64 Pink-footed Geese, a Tufted Duck, 33 Red-throated Divers and two Grey Plovers flying south, with a Velvet Scoter and another Grey Plover heading in the opposite direction. An Ocean Sunfish was a surprise late morning and attracted the attention of gulls, including a juvenile Yellow-legged Gull.

Thornwick Pools attracted two Pink-footed Geese, 19 Teal and two Snipe, with a Swift overhead. The Cetti’s Warbler was caught & ringed at South Landing, where two Yellow-browed Warblers were present. Another Yellow-browed Warbler was seen in the Dell at RSPB Bempton Cliffs; 50 Pink-footed Geese, 12 Golden Plover, 63 Swallows and 60 Skylark also flew south there, with grounded migrants including a Pied Flycatcher and a Whinchat.
