Heavy showers during the morning cleared to sunny skies by mid-afternoon. Wind was a moderate south westerly. Sea watching produced a decent passage of ducks and waders. Highlights included 13 Teal, 2 Tufted Duck, 56 Common Scoter, 1 Red-throated Diver, 28 Manx Shearwater, 2 Grey Heron, 13 Whimbrel, 1 Bar-tailed Godwit, 101 Knot, 3 Ruff, 4 Sanderling, 61 Dunlin, 69 Sandwich Tern, 5 Common Tern, 2 Arctic Tern and single Little and Mediterranean Gull.
On the land, Thornwick pools hosted up to 3 Green Sandpiper, Little ringed Plover and 11 Dunlin. A Green Sandpiper flew over Oceanview and a Short-eared Owl was hunting around the sea watch hide late evening.
