A relatively overcast day, with moderate/strong south-westerly winds. During the swatch, two Blue Fulmars flew south and 8500 Guillemots flew past the Fog Station. In addition, there was a significant arrival of the latter species to the cliffs, with 30,000 present at RSPB Bempton Cliffs.
The lone White-fronted Goose moved to the flooded flashes adjacent to Water Lane and the Jack Snipe remained in situ at Thornwick Pools. However, a juvenile Glaucous Gull that rested at Stainforth’s Flash was very much a new arrival.
