A moderate north-westerly wind later switched into a lighter south-easterly, while sunny conditions dominated throughout the day. Seabird passage included 300 Fulmar and 35 Manx Shearwaters flying north, 20 Common Scoter moving south and single Red-breasted Merganser and Whimbrel flying north. An adult Pomarine Skua flew south and ten Sandwich (including the first juvenile) and one Arctic Tern headed south. A Bonxie and the first returning Turnstone were also recorded.

Thornwick Pools hosted a Grey Heron and a juvenile Dunlin. Two Siskins were present along with a ‘glip’ Crossbill; initially on the Outer Head, it later flew west from Oceanview.

A Hummingbird Hawkmoth again visited gardens on the Outer Head.
