An overcast day, with periodic and relatively heavy rain during the morning; misty at times, with a moderate north-north-easterly wind and temperatures only reaching 16 degrees C. Seawatch highlights included 16 Teal, 142 Common Scoters, nine Golden Plover, seven Ruff, four Snipe, 13 Redshank, 36 Sandwich Terns, two Common Terns, 15 Arctic Terns, a Bonxie and an Arctic Skua all flying north. A juvenile Yellow-legged Gull frequented the sea off the Fog Station mid-afternoon. In addition, a juvenile Marsh Harrier circled off the headland during the evening, when 1341 Puffins flew north in two hours.
Thornwick Pools attracted a Wood Sandpiper, two Green Sandpipers, 11 Common Sandpipers, ten Redshank, two Ruff, 15 Dunlin, two juvenile Little Ringed Plovers, a Ringed Plover and a Bar-tailed Godwit; 15 Golden Plovers also flew south over the Pools.
An extraordinary dragonfly record concerned a Lesser Emperor that was discovered in a village moth trap.
