The weather was best described as inclement – strong north-north-westerly winds, driving rain with mist and temperatures barely reaching 13 degrees C. A seawatch from South Landing was quiet, with eight Common Scoters flying north, whilst five Dunlin and six Sandwich Terns headed in the opposite direction. Nineteen Oystercatchers, a Bar-tailed Godwit, seven Whimbrel, a Greenshank, two Common Sandpipers and four Sanderling sheltered on the beach. A pair of Coal Tits was present on Church Lane, where breeding has occurred over recent years.
