After a record-breaking spell of overcast, the sun finally made a brief appearance as clouds started to dissipate; temperatures only reached four degrees in moderate south-south-east winds. The highlight of the morning seawatch was a fantastic northerly movement of 257 Red-throated Divers, the highest winter total for 15 years. The 18 White-fronted Geese and eight Egyptian Geese were still present, along with 93 Wigeon. Two Red Kites flew south-west from the headland, while Beacon Hill hosted the long-staying Snow Bunting flock. Sightings from RSPB Bempton Cliffs included a Marsh Harrier and four Woodcock.
