There were light north-westerly winds and sunny intervals during the day. Seawatching highlights included 184 Fulmars, 149 Manx Shearwaters, a Shoveler and 171 Common Scoters flying north. Southbound birds included five Knot, seven Sanderling, six Dunlin and two Turnstone. Five Whimbrel flew south (with two north) and a Bar-tailed Godwit also headed north. Two Arctic Skuas and a Bonxie moved north, whilst seven Little Gulls were recorded; five flying south and two north. In addition, 85 Sandwich Terns and four Arctic Terns moved north.

The Grey Heron, two Tufted Ducks and a Yellow Wagtail visited Thornwick Pools.  A Short-eared Owl was hunting near the Lighthouse early morning and the White Wagtail was present nearby.

A creamcrown Marsh Harrier frequented the cliff top at Bempton.
