Strong south-westerly winds dominated until the evening, with sunny intervals throughout. Seawatching produced two Blue Fulmars, five Manx Shearwaters, a Grey Heron, three drake Scaup that flew south, two Eider north and eight Black-tailed Godwits, 97 Knot, nine Sanderling, 73 Dunlin and 82 Redshank all moving south. A juvenile Yellow-legged Gull flew north, as did 151 Sandwich Terns and, more unusually, a Short-eared Owl, whilst the Bonxie remained in residence.

Thornwick Pools attracted a Grey Heron, 14 Dunlin, a Redshank, one Common Sandpiper and three Lapwing. Elsewhere, four Siskins were scattered across the Outer Head and two Yellow Wagtails were near the Lighthouse.

A juvenile Merlin, creamcrown Marsh Harrier and two Whimbrel were recorded at Buckton.
