Sunny intervals with increasingly cloudy skies, a blustery south-west wind and high of 18 degrees C. Seawatching proved rewarding, especially in the afternoon, when a significant southerly movement of feeding terns developed, which in turn attracted large numbers of attendant skuas. Highlights included 6429 Common Terns, ten Black Terns, two adult Roseate Terns, seven juvenile Long-tailed Skuas, 80 Arctic Skuas and 831 Little Gulls. Additional sightings included five Sooty Shearwaters, a first-winter Caspian Gull and a first-winter Yellow-legged Gull. Away from the sea, a single Jay at Oceanview was the most noteworthy record.
