Sunny skies, a moderate south-easterly wind and high of 21 degrees C. The Thornwick wetlands hosted 46 Tufted Ducks, four Little Grebes, a Snipe, one Common Sandpiper and two Green Sandpipers. The uptick in wader records was also apparent over the sea, with 46 Redshank moving south; in addition, two Greenshank headed in the same direction over the outer head. Six juvenile Caspian Gulls rested on rocks at Cattlemere during low tide, including two darvic-ringed individuals. On the land, the Quail continued to sing from barley crop on the outer head.
A total of 51 Oystercatchers headed south-east past RSPB Bempton Cliffs, where a Reed Warbler, seven Willow Warblers, a Goldcrest and four Yellow Wagtails were present.
