A southerly wind with increasing cloud during the day. Seawatching produced a Manx Shearwater south, six Whooper Swans south, two Gadwall south, two Shoveler north, one Tufted Duck and five Goldeneye south, two Red-breasted Merganser and a Goosander south, with two Pomarine Skuas north. A total of 720 Little Auks flew east (in effect as part of their northward passage) past South Landing, a Grey Phalarope appeared off the headland and a 2nd-year Mediterranean Gull flew south. Two Great Northern Divers, two Velvet Scoter and a female-type Long-tailed Duck were also noted off South Landing.

The first-winter Citrine Wagtail remained on South Landing beach, where the Water Pipit was still present.

Thornwick Pool hosted 16 Teal, a Little Grebe, a Water Rail, five Dunlin and a Grey Wagtail. There was an influx of thrushes with 660 Fieldfare, 110 Redwing, two Ring Ouzel, 65 Blackbirds and 14 Snow Buntings were also recorded.
