27th May 2020

Initially overcast, with sunny intervals developing in a moderate northerly breeze; occasional mist/fog drifted in off the sea in the morning. Fifteen Common Scoter, four Red-throated Divers, 20 Manx Shearwaters and 17 Sandwich Terns flew past the Fog Station. Two Pink-footed Geese lingered, as did a Wigeon and one Little Ringed Plover. A Quail was calling again near Buckton, whilst passerine interest on the outer head included Spotted Flycatcher and Corn Bunting. The year’s first Painted Lady butterfly was also recorded.
