Wind strengthened overnight to an easterly gale and brought constant driven rain, occasionally heavy, throughout the morning, turning to drizzle early afternoon. 8C was the maximum temperature.

A Manx Shearwater and a ‘Blue’ Fulmar  made the morning’s seawatch worthwhile although other than 2 Common Scoters and 11 Red-throated Divers there was little else of note to keep the interest going.

The awful weather thoroughly dampened any enthusiasm for searching for birds away from any shelter today.
