A sunny day, with light winds generally from a southerly direction, and temperatures reaching 23 degrees C. Seawatching highlights included five Oystercatchers, 12 Sanderling, two Knot, nine Dunlin and 35 Redshank flying south, with 66 Sandwich Terns, seven Arctic Terns and an Arctic Skua moving north. Thornwick Pools hosted two Green Sandpipers, with South Landing attracting a Common Sandpiper. Hirundines were in good numbers, including 480 Swallows and 560 House Martins. In addition, nine Yellow Wagtails were present, whilst a Black Redstart made a brief appearance in the overflow car-park at RSPB Bempton Cliffs.
