A sunny morning gave way to heavy showers by mid afternoon which continued through the evening. Wind was a light westerly.
A single Greenish Warbler remained around the car park at Bempton and showed well at times. A Pied Flycatcher was nearby, along the nature trail.
On the outer headland, a Yellow-legged Gull was noted. Wader totals included 5 Whimbrel, 17 Dunlin and Ruff, the latter flying over Thornwick Pools. There were some good counts of hirundines with 560 House Martin, 360 Swallow and 3 Sand Martin. Other passerines included a male White Wagtail in the lighthouse car park, a single Whinchat, 2 Wheatear, 8 Yellow Wagtail and a single Corn Bunting.
