After a relatively cloudy start, sunny intervals prevailed, with moderate north-north-easterly winds. During the seawatch, 97 Kittiwakes flew north, but the day’s highlight referred to a juvenile Pomarine Skua that flew north; earlier it had been harrying gulls off South Landing.
Two White-fronted Geese and one Pink-foot frequented Stainforth’s Flash early morning. Two Water Rails fed along the ‘motorway’ south of the Lighthouse and a Woodcock was flushed from South Landing.
West of the Dykes, sightings from Buckton included a Water Rail and three Stonechat.
