Another warm day, with temperatures reaching 27 degrees C by midday under sunny skies; a cooling onshore breeze subsequently provided relief in the afternoon. Seawatch highlights included five Golden Plovers moving south, a Common Tern, 245 Sandwich Terns and two Arctic Skuas north with a Minke Whale offshore.
There were five calling Quail on the outer head providing further evidence of an increase over the last two days. Other notable records included a Merlin, a creamcrown Marsh Harrier, two Whimbrel and a ‘migrant’ Reed Warbler.
