Very strong westerly winds throughout a day of sunny intervals, occasional showers and a high of 12 degrees C. The Rufous-tailed Robin remained in residence in South Landing, where it even ventured onto the path early morning before reverting to type and skulking deep in the adjacent gully. The three Tundra Bean Geese also lingered on Beacon Hill, while 24 Russian White-fronted Geese were on stubbles near Thornwick Lakes. Continuing the good run of sightings of late, a Hoopoe visited Oceanview late afternoon before it flew north over Lighthouse Road. Thornwick Pools attracted a Great Egret that later flew west over Croft’s Hill, while seawatch highlights included a Pintail and 73 Little Gulls.

Away from the outer head, the Pallas’s Warbler remained at RSPB Bempton Cliffs where it showed well at times on the edge of the car park.
