The day featured moderate south-westerly winds and sunny intervals. Seawatch highlights included a Great Northern Diver flying south, as did single dark-bellied Brent Goose, Pochard and Velvet Scoter. Two Common Terns and 120 Little Gulls also fed offshore. Two Snow Buntings remained around the Fog Station, with an additional seven moving north there.
Two Whooper Swans and 230 Pink-footed Geese flew south over the headland, four Common Buzzards appeared at Buckton and a first-winter Mediterranean Gull rested on the rocks at Sewerby. A Woodcock was on the Outer Head, with passerine migrants including a Mistle Thrush, six Chiffchaffs, 12 Goldcrests and five Brambling. Visible migration included 70 Skylarks, 60 Chaffinch and five Siskins heading south.
Thornwick Pool hosted the Little Grebe, two Wigeon, 27 Teal, two Dunlin, a Jack Snipe, whilst a Sparrowhawk killed a Water Rail there. In addition, a minimum of 3500 Starlings roosted in the reeds and a Grey Wagtail also appeared at Thornwick.
Buckton held 265 Lapwing, 55 Golden Plover and 22 Corn Bunting.
