The weather consisted of light south-westerly winds, very light rain caused by the arrival of a front and temperatures reaching 20 degrees C. Seawatch highlights included 39 Common Scoters, 31 Manx Shearwaters, a juvenile Mediterranean Gull, seven Sandwich Terns and three Common Terns flying north; a Bar-tailed Godwit and seven Arctic Terns moved south. Thornwick Pools attracted a Little Egret, two Little Ringed Plovers and a Green Sandpiper.
A significant movement of Swifts occurred as a result of the arrival of the front: 2300 Swifts flew west at Bempton between 1230-1730hrs. An arrival of four Hobbies was also associated with this influx: three birds frequented the airspace between Bempton and North Dykes, with a further single seen over South Landing.
