A hot, sunny day, with a moderate south-westerly wind developing and temperatures peaking at 26 degrees C. During the morning’s seawatch, a Balearic Shearwater and an Arctic Skua flew north.
A Little Egret was on the beach below the South Cliffs and Thornwick Pools attracted four Dunlin, a Redshank and a Ringed Plover. At least 200 House Martins and 75 Swallows were feeding over the village.
West of the Dykes, two Hobbies, a Ruff and a Swift were seen at Buckton, whilst seven Pintail flew south-east over Bempton Cliffs RSPB.
