It mixed day of weather, with essentially a light/moderate westerly airflow, heavy rain during the middle part and a sunny finish; temperatures dropped to 13 degrees C mid-afternoon. Seawatching was rewarded with 47 Common Scoters, 20 Manx Shearwaters, 28 Oystercatchers and six Whimbrel flying south, with 110 Sandwich Terns, three Arctic Terns and a Bonxie moving north.
Thornwick Pools hosted a Wigeon, two Shoveler, four Dunlin, two Green Sandpipers, a Common Sandpiper and one Redshank.
West of the Dykes, 23 Whimbrel flew south-east at Buckton, where the Grasshopper Warbler continued to sing near the cliff top.
