Overcast with light rain throughout; gentle winds and a high of ten degrees C. The Hume’s Warbler retreated to private gardens on the outer head, although the Old Fall Dusky Warbler ‘played ball’ and showed well at times. Nearby, the Richard’s Pipit was still in residence south of Head Farm, but four Waxwings on the outer head were fresh arrivals.

The four Whooper Swans remained in fields near Old Fall, while two Long-tailed Ducks, including an adult drake, joined 175 Common Scoters off the South Cliffs. Two Great Northern Divers flew south and two Great Egrets lingered on the outer head. Additional migrants there included four Woodcock, 800 Fieldfare, 120 Redwing, a Siberian Chiffchaff, two Cetti’s Warblers, four Firecrests, 13 Mealy Redpolls, five Lesser Redpolls, two Siskin, three Brambling, seven Twite and four Snow Buntings.

Sightings from RSPB Bempton Cliffs and immediate environs included a Lesser Whitethroat, 12 Mealy Redpolls, a Lapland Bunting and a Snow Bunting.
