Light winds turned onshore in the afternoon, mainly overcast skies and a high of 19 degrees C. Seawatch highlights included 20 Teal, 16 Common Terns, 116 Sandwich Terns, a juvenile Caspian Gull, an Arctic Skua, one Red-throated Diver and a Manx Shearwater. Three Little Egrets frequented Cattlemere, while three Eider and a juvenile Mediterranean Gull lingered at South Landing. Other notable records included a Water Rail, one Short-eared Owl, three Reed Warblers, a Grey Wagtail and 12 Yellow Wagtails.
Sightings from RSPB Bempton Cliffs included a Little Owl, one Green Sandpiper, a Cetti’s Warbler, a Garden Warbler, two Reed Warblers, a Pied Flycatcher, five Yellow Wagtails and a Minke Whale.
