Today’s weather brought overcast skies and occasional showers on a strong south-easterly and temperatures maxing out at 7C.
There is a distinct sense that autumn birding has now lost all momentum and we are transitioning into winter. There were few birds passing on the morning’s seawatch where the highlights were 2 Eiders, 3 Common Scoters and 5 Red-throated Divers.
Away from the Fog Station, a Water Rail continued to frequent a ditch on Cliff Lane, Bempton and a Snow Bunting was again at RSPB Bempton Cliffs.
