The work at Flamborough Bird Observatory is undertaken by a team of dedicated volunteers. By becoming a Friend, you’ll join a growing community of like-minded people determined to establish Flamborough as one of the UK’s best birding destinations. You’ll be helping to fund a vital series of conservation projects, as well as the production of the Annual Report. In return, you’ll receive a range of benefits, including:

  • ‘WhatsApp’ messages letting you know about the discovery of all rare and scarce birds the moment they are found.
  • Exclusive access to the photographic hide at Thornwick Pools that gives unprecedented views of passage waders amongst others.

Completing a Gift Aid Declaration will mean that the Observatory will be able to reclaim tax from HMRC  meaning an addition 25p for each and every pound of your subscription.

If you are 13-21 years old, you are eligible for a  free ‘digital’ observatory Friendship. This will entitle you to  receive the same ‘electronic’ package as our normal membership i.e. email updates, newsletters and exclusive access to our WhatsApp Group providing information on latest sightings, find out about how Observatory work is carried out;
