Giving a donation to Flamborough Bird Observatory (FBO) will help ensure that we will be here for future generations to continue monitoring the wildlife of the headland and to provide a warm welcome for those wanting to enjoy and study birdlife in this very special place.
Your donation counts
One of the most effective ways you can support FBO is to make a donation. Unlike income from grants, donations can be used to support essential running costs and so help ensure we can maintain the high standards we have attained in recent years. A donation could also contribute to the Observatory securing land to manage for wildlife benefit or help maintain our visitor facilities at the Seawatching Observatory and Thornwick Pools. Every amount we receive, large or small, contributes to the viability and future survival of the Observatory and helps preserve the headland’s special natural habitats.
Make your donation go further
If you are a UK taxpayer and intend to make a monetary donation to FBO, including subscriptions, you can substantially increase its value and benefit our work even more by signing a Gift Aid Declaration. A Gift Aid Declaration enables the FBO to reclaim income tax from HMRC that you have already paid on a donation. This increases the value of your gift by 25 pence for every pound. Guidance on Gift Aid can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/donating-to-charity/gift-aid.
Gift Aid is only available from donations made from income and not from capital therefore no tax can be reclaimed on donations received from assets other than money.
